Key West Fishing Tournament, Inc.
More than 40 species of fish are targeted during the Key
West Fishing Tournament, with divisions for men, women,
junior anglers (ages 10 to 14) and Pee Wees (under 10
years old). In a (March) Kickoff tournament, anglers
target 15 different species, and $5,000 in cash prizes
are split between the top anglers: cash awards for
catching the heaviest mutton snapper, cobia, kingfish,
grouper, wahoo, dolphin fish, blackfin tuna, mangrove
snapper and grunt.

Hemingway Days
The 31st celebration of the legendary author’s work and
lifestyle features literary readings, a theatrical
premiere, short story competition, fishing tournament,
Sloppy Joe’s Look-Alike Contest and a pre-birthday
"party" commemorating Ernest's July 21st birthday.

Drambuie Key West Marlin Tournament
Anglers ply the same waters as by novelist Ernest
Hemingway, for $50,000 in guaranteed cash prizes. Held
in conjunction with Key West's annual Hemingway Days
celebration, the event awards first-place team $25,000,
while second- and third-place prizes earn $10,000 and
$5,000, respectively. Teams also can enter one fun fish
(dolphin, tuna, wahoo or released sailfish) per boat per
day to add to their point total. Tournament entry fees
are $1,800 per boat for two anglers to compete in the
marlin division and attend tournament social events.

Sloppy Joe's "Papa" Hemingway Look-Alike Contest
This annual contest takes place at Sloppy Joe's Bar, 201
Duval St., where Ernest Hemingway often enjoyed
cocktails with cohorts. The event attracts look-alike
contestants from around the United States and
international locales to vie for the title of "Papa,"
and is a highlight of the annual Hemingway Days
celebration of the legendary author's literary prowess
and colorful lifestyle.

Hemingway
5K Sunset Run
The oldest ongoing 5k run in Key West, this event is to
be held at 7:30 p.m. The course will be a flat, fast 5k
(three mile) course starting at the Southernmost Point
in the continental United States. Enjoy the scenic
waterfront and see a piece of Key West history while
running through Old Town. Entry forms can be picked up
at local fitness centers & hotels. A registration booth
is to be open race day at the Southernmost Hotel, 1319
Duval Street from 5 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. Registration is $30
before race day, $35 the day of.
