Approaching Key West by car means traveling south on A1A (= US1) and passing 42 bridges, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean at your left side and the Gulf of Mexico at your right. One of the 42 bridges is the seven mile bridge. And when you see it twice here, don't worry about your eyes! The left one is "old seven mile", now a historic landmark and no longer open for traffic. The right picture below shows Old Bahia Honda Bridge.

In old town Key West you'll find the the southernmost point of continental USA, on famous Duval Street alone approximately 40% of Key West's more than 200 bars and restaurants, and beautiful conch houses all over the city.

By the way: Come as you are! You don't have to bring fine clothes and ties to get in to the finest places in Key West. "Shoes and shirt required" - that's it.

The weather? It's here!

With tons of sunshine, where are the beaches? Though the Keys generally not being famous for long sandy beaches, Key West has three major beaches: Smathers (where Kokomo is located pict. below), Higgins, and Fort Zachary Taylor.

Water sports? Name your favorite! And from your balcony, the girls waiting the booth of "Sunset  Watersports" are in shouting distance. May be you get so excited about the parasailing going on in front of your nose, that you'll give it a try yourself?
